Hydroxyurea α-Interferon
Imatinib hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
IMATINIB
It is used in treating chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) and some other diseases. In CML, the tyrosine kinase enzyme ABL is stuck in its activated form; imatinib binds to the site of tyrosine kinase activity, and prevents its activity.

Philadelphia chromosome or Philadelphia translocation is a specific chromosomal abnormality that is associated with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). It is the result of a reciprocal translocation between chromosome 9 and 22, and is specifically designated t(9;22)(q34;q11). The presence of this translocation is a highly sensitive test for CML, since 95% of people with CML have this abnormality

Many recipients of HSCTs are multiple myeloma[6] or leukemia patients[7] who would not benefit from prolonged treatment with, or are already resistant to,chemotherapy.
